Frequently Asked Questions

Can I email you with maths questions?
Yes, but you may just get a brief answer and then I'll pop in the odd
web link to the topic - if I have time I will answer in more detail.

How far do you travel?
Usually I aim to work within a ten mile radius of Melksham but will consider
travelling further, just enquire on 01225 707844

Of the three GCSE exam levels; Foundation, Intermediate and Higher
which should I apply to do?

Firstly talk to your school or college teacher. A general rule is that
If you need to get a 'C' grade for employment then often the best option
is the intermediate level. 90 per cent of the people I tutor are studying
the intermediate level. If you need to go on to further mathematics study
and are required to achieve an 'A' grade then you need to do the Higher
Level exams.

When is the right time to start practicing exam questions?
In my opinion you should start early and become familiar with the papers
- try to obtain old exam papers from edexel, OCR. Private students start
working with exam papers around 8 weeks before the exam.
